Lora Bright House

I’m a maker, teacher, and lifelong lover of color, form, and everyday rituals.

I’m a graduate of the NC State College of Design, where I studied both Graphic Design and Industrial Design - two paths that taught me to think in systems, surfaces, and stories - and to always keep one foot in play.

My work lives at the intersection of functional ceramics and expressive surface. I’m drawn to bold color, playful mark-making, and pieces that invite touch and use - objects that quietly become part of someone’s daily rhythm, whether that’s a morning cup of coffee or a favorite bowl on the counter.

I love teaching just as much as I love making. There’s nothing better than helping someone discover what clay can do in their hands - especially that moment when frustration turns into flow, and surprise turns into joy.

In 2026, I started Mud & Co as a space for that kind of learning and making: small, personal, hands-on classes that build confidence and curiosity in clay. I also teach at the NC State Craft Center, where I get to share that same energy with a wider community of makers.

Mud, color, repetition, experimentation - that’s the heart of it all.
